There used to be a programme on the television (a childrens' programme) called "Why don't you?" and the theme song included the line, "Why don't you turn off the TV and do something less boring instead?" which was accompanied by a cartoon of someone watching the TV and then kicking it, I mean kicking their boot through the front of it!!!
