As for the re-make of TCM...I wasnt really down with seeing it at all. Everyone was making a huge deal about it but i pouted and said that I'd prefer not to see them try to re-make the best movie of all time and fuck it up. Weeellll, about a month or so after it came out it got into the local dollar theatre. I figured I could fork over a dollar [if it was a piece of shit I'd only be out a buck, no big deal] and see it. And it was actually very good. They didnt really re-make it, they just took the basic idea of the whole thing and made it their own. The only thing is that they added a lot of social cliches. It was almost like "Hey, wheres the tokin black dude?". But, it was decent...I walked away happy that i'd spent that dollar.
Have you ever seen strapping young lad live? i saw them with nile, dark tranquility, berserker + napalm death a few months ago. Devon has an amazing stage prescence! He is so fucking funny! It sucks they only played for about 40 minutes.

i watched the '90 remake of night of the living dead yesterday for the first time in quite awhile and realized it's not nearly as good as i had remembered. the zombies look pretty neat, and i thought tony todd was good in it. but that's about all it had going for it in my opinion.
