I enjoyed "From Hell" but I also had to laugh...when we were leaving the theatre a girl behind me said, "I knew he was a bad guy when I saw his ring." I so very desperately wanted to turn around and shake her and and show off my Masonic ring...watch her reaction...but I thought I'd best not.

"From Hell" was a very good movie, one of the better Jack the Ripper movies out there. Though Depp was way better as a pirate, yaaargh.

It starred Christopher Plummer as Sherlock Holmes investigating Jack the Ripper who was a killing the prostitutes at the decree of the Masons to cover little Eddie's philandering...balderdash! smile The comic book that "From Hell" was based on was in turn based on this movie.

That story line is a big load of bollocks. No truth to it whatsoever. No one has any idea who Jack the Ripper was or what possessed him or why he just stopped. Hell, if you watch Star Trek...he was an alien. Sorry, I'm just sensitive on the subject...sob... tongue It did make for a cool movie though eh?
