I recently caught Trainspotting (most of it anyway) on cable, god that's one fucked up and amazing piece of film. It's not quite the flashback that Outsiders is, but you get the idea. I remember that I had to read Outsiders the book for school when I was a kid. I was pissed that I was being forced to read the book (I liked reading, but previously could pick whatever I wanted). I dragged my feet, then when I finally caved and dug into it the book blew me away. The movie came along shortly after (I'm old like that LOL), and as good as it is I thought it fell short at the time.

i just watched Eight Legged Freaks, it's definitly not one of my favs. it was pretty bad but the kind of cheesy bad that makes it kind of good.

I haven't seen The Outsiders in a long time but I like it. I remember the title song/title sequence (Stevie Wonder singing "Stay Gold") and the (Ralph Macchio?) character dying, always wanting to finish reading Gone with the Wind and lamenting "13 years ain't a long enough life, etc"--that was a great scene. I think I liked Rumblefish better. I actually met Matt Dillon when he was dating Cameron Diaz once. They just happened to sit next to me at Joe's (bar in East Village--4th or 5th btwn 1st and Ave A, I think) one night and we talked about--of all things--Tennessee Ernie Ford (whom Dillon was playing on the jukebox).

I've always meant to check out Debra Jean's favorite "Sweet Sweetback's..."

Hmmm.... that's a toughy. Movies watched recently on cable: Pump Up the Volume, Short Circuit 2, and some teen movie with Jack Black, Seth Green, and some very bad writing. Oh, I know, speaking of Terry Zwigoff: Crumb. That movie is so good.

My ladyfriend loves The Outsiders too.
planty:
watch the movie "dead man", with johnny depp. i think you'll dig it...
throatneedle:
'Carlito's Way'
Al Pacino's best role and Spanish accent IMO
Just watch it for the chase scene/shootout in Grand Central
Fucking quality!

flick:
I have to agree that Sebastian Cole and Dead Man are great movies (I wish Crispen Glover had been in that one more though, I lurve him). I had recently watched U-Turn, a really great film by Oliver Stone. Yeah, it was a perfect evening: a body to cuddle with, some Tim Horton's coffee that said body had picked up for us, and a little number to puff mid-way through our feature film.

edited because I can't type...

My favorite movie that i have watched recently... i saw X-Men again on Fox the other night. Go Wolverine... I'm growing my chops out again in honor...
(I made my friend add a journal. I dont know if you remember, but when i met you at Luna's I told you that you reminded me of someone. Well that is her.)

I know that it's lame, but I absolutely love watching 10 Things I Hate About You. Every time I see it, I laugh at not-so-amusing things and I get very annoyed looks from other people around me. I'm just easily amused. I know. But I'm not apologizing for it. I laugh at the stupidest things, as you can tell from my entry biggrin
11_11:
no and thank you.

I haven't seen Dude Where's My Car!
