(Responding to your post on my journal) I've read parts of both Palestine and Safe Area. I'm reading Palestine all the way through right now and I'll eventually read Safe Area. What years did you live in Bosnia? Sorry to hear about your landlord problems and money problems. You're brighter than a lot of the people I work with and you'd cry if you found out how much they make. I don't see how people make it in NYC working retail jobs. (I put in my share of retail slave-wage years before I got some marketable skills; so it always irks me when I see rich kids come to work at [unnamed TV network] fresh out of school and making 4 times more than people in bookstores who actually have to work hard.) No justice in the world. My only suggestion: five-finger discount. Or set me up with the co-worker of yours I like and I'll reward you handsomely. Seriously, hang in there. A comicbook artist friend of mine, Sara Varon, has some of her work in a new anthology called Rosetta (has Dave Cooper cover). Some other Brooklyn artists in it, too. Do you like Jessica Abel?
