Mine is much shorter - 6 tattoos & “yes” to all but blood donations. But I just learned they lifted the ban on donations from people like me so I’ll have to go & cross that off the list soon! Since the 1980s, the existence of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, referenced as vCJD and otherwise known as the "Mad Cow" disease, banned many potential donors from donating blood—in particular, those who have served in or traveled to certain countries in Europe. In 2020, the FDA lifted the vCJD disease travel deferral for the majority of affected European countries, but it wasn't until May 2022 that it was determined to be safe enough to lift the ban for the U.K., France, and Ireland.
@albertareef well they haven't worked out for me so far haha so it's actually a bit of a sore spot for me 🥲 I would like to find my forever person, but having two failed engagements makes me a little nervous about being able to trust people's intentions going forward (or it might be more correct to say I'm a bit anxious about my ability to gauge intentions/commitment at this point, I think I second guess myself more than others)
@cripplethreat I have a horse names Chace 🙂 I have hip issues now and can't horseback ride anymore, so he lives at a retirement facility and has a nice cushy life. The horse pictured in this blog isn't mine though! I rode competitively in college, this was a qualifier for nationals where we were randomly assigned mounts - the horse I rode was named Nate (and we won!).
@cripplethreat for future tattoos - I really want an ocean themed sleeve on my right arm. I also need to get the linework on my left leg lasered off (meh 😖), but then hopefully will be able to get a sleeve finished on the leg as well. The original artist (who also happens to be my ex) didn't tattoo what we originally discussed but then also refused to finish what he did so I've just been stuck with incomplete linework for years. I might have to see how much laser will cost (never had a removed before) and what it will look like after before I can figure out exactly what that sleeve can look like now. I really want some fern leaves though, and maybe a goose (in tribute to a Mary Oliver poem), and mostly just want a cohesive/full sleeve on that leg!
@nebula sorry to hear it hasn't worked out so far. Took me three tries so there is always hope! You seem to be a smart, talented, adventurous and passionate person so don't let it get you too down. It is hard to try and keep yourself open after some bitter disappoints though so I get the trust issue for sure. All the best!
