Been to Berlin for the New Year's Eve. Amazing! I've never seen so many people at one spot before. Sadly I think it is now too often down to throwing firecrackers at other people. We went to Kreuzberg after midnight to the Kato. When we left the subway, there was already riot police there But we got to the Kato without trouble and I was finally back in my sleeping bag at around 8 a.m.
On the train back home the next day I met a friend whom I haven't seen for about five years or so. He has definitely changed for the worst. Ok, he was never the type of guy you would trust easily, as he would use any information he had about you against you if it would mean a benefit for him. And now he is at the university studying history and joined a fraternity! A fraternity?! There's only one reason to do this: He want's to get ahead the easy way using the connections the fraternity provides. And his whole behaviour, manner of speaking and language has changed. He now acts like some kind of aristocrat...
