My mother sent me a dozen yellow roses yesterday and it was one of the most touching things ever. It was so sweet and surprising it made my heart ache. I don't know if it's because I always think of my poor struggling mother and her seemingly constant financial issues or what. It's not that she's poor any longer, but my family has always been frugal and I don't know that I've EVER gotten anything like this before. My mother is a garage sale queen and has always given me little "treasures" she's found... which at different points in my life had been embarrassing and unappreciated on my part. I can be such an selfish asshole at times. So to think I got a dozen long stemmed yellow roses is amazing...

My son will turn seven on 8/16, and my little girl just turned a year on 6/17.
