I so far have avoided teaching a class, but I know it's in my near future. Everyone I know who has taught a class has had a hooror story about that one student - the one who wouldn't let others talk, was argumentative, a know-it-all, or just plain weird (in an ax-murderer kind of way). Do you have any of those?
Regarding the Long Island girl: I think theree may be something genetic there. I have had similar experiences with people from that corner of the world. What I've always wondered is why there always seems to be one know-it-all in every class. If they already know, why are they there?
i have a class of about 200 that refuses to ever shut up..i feel for the prof he really is a lovely guy with great politics.
