Ok, well.... I have seriously utlized the coolness of the Borders educators sale.
The first day I went I got:
both Margaret Cho DVDs
the South Park movie
a Jean Baudrillard book
and a book about body bods for my research
The 2nd day I went I got:
Against Love (a book in the sociology section)
Everyone Poops
The Gas We Pass
Bodies of Inscription (research done on tattoos)
2 tins of tea (Blackberry Sage and Rainforest Tea)
Now I'm going to go back today to get the Consumer Reports buying guide because it'd probably be a useful thing to have around. Also, I want a new blender since mine got fried trying to crush ice last year at some point. So I need to find one with good ice crushing!
Last night I went to this bar on campus that's in this big red barn to hang out with people from my department and some of the new recruits for the fall. It turned out to be mostly my cohort and only 2 of the recruits, but whatever. One of the new girls was really cool and I hope that she comes to school here. The other one... like a train wreck...
She was the most annoying thing to ever hit Syracuse. I swear. She wouldn't shut up for two seconds - I think she has an issue with silence. She is also like super high maintainence because she left her things all over Syracuse at different places and people's houses and then they all had to get them back to her - or she just lost it. So we go to the bar, and I was wanting to get away from her because once she starts talking she really doesn't stop. So I round up some people and we go upstairs and play pool - we ended up playing 6 games and I was SO fucking happy because I hadn't played in like 6 months. 
Then some of my friends come over to me and tell me that annoying girl has a crush on me!! 
Turns out that she recently decided she was bisexual after having a crush on her brother's ex-girlfriend - she tells me this later cuz I really fucking care, right? Of course. I manage to stay away from her for the night by playing pool so much that she can't really corner me. However, after we stopped playing she got me... she kept talking and talking and was telling me things that she just shouldn't tell people she doesn't know - like how she's bipolar (she told me twice in like a 20 minute conversation), her issues with seeing girls, dating issues, asking me personal things about MY relationship - sheesh girl! 
Eventually it was time to go so we took her to her hotel and went back to someone's house to hang out some more. Apparently right after I left, this girl called the house 4 times (it was 2am) to get the number for the bar because she left her credit card there!! Ugh. I have a feeling that she'll end up coming to school here too... scary. I hate to say it, but I'm not gonna be able to handle her. She's completely draining. 
Tomorrow I get a new dishwasher installed!! I'm SO excited about that cuz mine has been leaking forever and I can't leave the house with it running cuz I gotta get up and pour the water out of the bowls so it doesn't spill over. It's also the loudest fucking thing in the world. So this is good!
I just tried to do my laundry and it wouldn't let me push the quarters into the thing... weird

That completely sucks about the annoying girl. Some people just don't know their verbal limit. I happen to know a few of those. For your sanity, I hope she doesn't end up in a 50 mile radius of you.
