had a rough couple of work days, nothing exciting enough to gripe about on here though... tongue

so i left work early today, came home and stuck on the most recent Blondie Documentary, "One Way Or Another".

watching Blondie, and especially them playing "Denis" on Top Of The Pops back in 1978 (when i was 8 or 9), always brings back big old memories for me...because its probably at this point i realised that
I REALLY LOVED MUSIC!. love

every saturday, dad would take me down the local record shop, and i'd buy a 7" single with my 70p pocket money. and bear in mind, around 1978 the radio charts were full of punk & new wave stuff - the banshees, the buzzcocks, the clash, the later rubbish Pistols stuff...

i remember seeing Blondie perform on that show - my dad was obviously quite taken with Debbie, as was I at the time.

the next saturday, i left that record shop with a copy of "Denis" on 7" - the white and red single with Debbie in the zebra print dress on the front.
also probably around the same time, i also bought "The Cost Of Living EP" by The Clash and "Ever Fallen In Love" by The Buzzcocks. I still have these singles at home.

so there you go...if you ever wanna know what got me into music, it was Blondie.

the band i've loved since i was 8.

(not the "Denis" footage unfortunately - but rather kicking live footage of "X Offender" instead)

musics great, innit. wink

ARRR!!!
