This has been a very busy week.
First off I won Employee of the Month and I also got the promotion that I had been hoping for. I am super excited. The new position will be a real challenge and that excites me to no end, plus I'll be working with one of the people that I have grown to admire greatly in the eight months that I have been at this company. I was supposed to start my new assignment on 4/30, but it looks like that will be delayed a bit until we can get my replacement hired. At least the promotion, as far as the raise, will still go into effect on 4/30 and I should be able to start doing some half days of trainingyay!
Then I played a kickball with the SGFL crew on Saturday, or more accurately stated, kickball played me. I took a serious spill within the first few minutes of the game and injured one of my already weak ankles. I, however, was able to finish all nine innings. For the next several days I hurt everywhereit even caused my TMJ/TMD to flare upand I could barely walk. At least I had an awesome uniform and I was on the winning team with the two pro kickballers, Wysh and Army.
Sunday I treated myself to a much needed hour-long massage. And ventured out for a short while to see Leah and eat some delicious food.
Monday, I sneezed all day long and felt worse and worse with every passing hour. By the time I got home from work I was half dead, running a fever, and had the worst sore throat. I ended up leaving work early on Tuesday and not going in at all on Wednesday. I'm the sort of person who gets everyone else sick because I refuse to stay at home, so this was bad to knock me out for the count like it did. Thursday, I went back to work still feeling gross, but needing to catch up on the piles of work that I knew were accumulating on my desk, never mind the 150 e-mails. I worked through lunch and a few hours late but successful caught up on everything. Afterwards, I went home, ate and passed out.
So this brings me to today. Today I woke up at 5am to a very drunk and very sleepy boyfriend messing around on the computer. I asked if he had been to bed yet and he said that he hadn't. I proceeded to try to make him go to bed since we had to get up to go to work in 2 hours. He insisted that I come look at what he was working on, so I did. He had purchased a green (my favorite color) I-Pod Nano for me the night before and was trying to get it all set-up for me. How very sweet and completely overboard!!! Being the incredibly rational and thrifty person that I am I thanked him, but insisted that he return it and keep the money. I told him that I didn't need such an expensive gift, that he should put the money in savings, etc. Of course, he didn't listen and insisted that I just accept the gift and be happy, so I did and I am.
And, in case you were wonderingdrunk boyfriends and electronics don't mix. I hope to get my new toy set-up tonight .
