Sounds normal to me. Except that you might be able to talk with boy #2. About coffee, maybe. "Do you make coffee this good for your girlfriend?" That's how I'd do it. If I were a girl.

Hi.

Acckk, what the hell would you need confidence for??
I mean look at that smile... If anything, just walk up and do it, you have nothing to lose, and most likly a phone # to gain...

If you can just get that one line out, the question, he will take care of the rest ... unless he is completely handicapped socially, which I bet you already know he's not, from watching him.

My guess is, he will either say, "I don't have a girlfriend" (at which point you say, "Too bad. Are you taking applications?" and laugh and let him do the rest, at which point you give him your phone number) or he will say something indicating he does have a girlfriend, which would be unfortunate but not the end of the world. He may not be happy with her. She may not last.

Good luck! You are on my friends list. smile

You know what? Chances are he would love for you to just go up to him and say hi. I know I would. If a pretty girl goes up to a guy to talk, they pretty much never say go away, or sorry, I'm busy, or blah blah.......you'll never know until you try. And no, it's not crazy to think about him, or go there to watch him. You're just gathering up the nerve to do something about it. And now I think you should have enough. Go for it dude.....

I'm sure you can do it. And even if you do feel like a fool ... if something goes horribly wrong, which I doubt it will ... you'll still be all right; just embarrassed. I've felt like a fool plenty of times, but at least as many times I've had everything work out very well. It wouldn't have, though, if I had decided beforehand that I couldn't stand feeling like a fool.

Another benefit: Talk to him this time and it will be easier next time! Skip it this time, and it will be harder next time. I know about that, too, unfortunately. smile
