Damn I've never been hit by a car. But I did work at a Starbucks for maybe 6 months when I was 21. One of the only jobs I've ever been fired from. Cool story, thanks for sharing!
Speaks volumes of your resilience! My 1st out of high school was a total fluke. Told to arrive at a building with blue and silver windows. I get off the bus, there are identical buildings across from each other, neither has a name or number outside. Flip a coin, head to my choice, office is room 501. Get there, no one seems to be expecting me, find my “new boss” and eventually settle into the mundane world of topographic drafting *pre CAD all reading from handwritten survey books and plotting by hand* About 6 months later he asks me how I got the job. Found out I was supposed to go to the personnel office, room 501, in the other building, and pass a written and oral exams for a waiting list ~ usually 9-12 months long! He liked my work, I stayed there 28 years!
