The bar top just experienced parts of lifes, fractions of moods, nothing complete, fragments. The tree is dead lies there, it does not live.

We experience ourselves as a whole. The lives of children to a certain point quite completely. The lives of partners, while we stay with them...

I don't envy the bar top. I envy you having kids.
