The point about littering is treat the streets as they are your home, you don't throw garbage to the floor of you place do you? (well normal people don't) That's what they teach us here, as most people ignore it >_<
(Which makes me wonder how "normal" people are at their homes )

Since my mom is a member of the Sierra Club, I have broken up the six pack holders for years. I can't throw them aways unless I do.

I cut them into pieces to make sure there's not even a tiny hole that can catch something.
The good thing that some companies are doing now, is making the rings "tearaway" so they rip open as you take the can out. Of course, the best option is NOT to make them at all.
