Nixon wasn't at the auction. It was a separate night at a different Venue. At least I didn't see her there... Miss Q did talk to him though (as she helped make a corset for a shoot he came and did) and they didn't have a problem with her. I don't think he's out at the ball to cause any drama. 
I hope you have a wonderful day, even if you don't have a big party and spend lots of money. Just enjoy the hell out of it, and make everyone else do the hard work and pamper you like crazy! 
we go every year. About a week before hand we're like "I couldn't be arsed with Supanova this year, it was crap last year"
Then on the day it's like "I'm bored, lets go to Supa"
Then after we leave we're like "I'm not going again next year, that was crap"
and seem to forget until the following year
