I always wondered why dogs are dumb enough to attack porcupines. I've never seen any other animal do that.

Ouch Porcupine quills = not so much fun.

A couple of years ago some distant relative of mine showed me a skull of a whitetail buck that had gotten a facefull of quills and been blinded and died. Among the more horrible ways to die that I can imagine.

The sight of a dog on demerol does sound funny. Poor dogs though, that was my only fear when i left my dog with my aunt last fall, was her getting at a porcupine as she has a nate on for all things small and non canine. Take good care of your pooch.
