tell me about it...ive been working seven days off two....it sux
i have to agree...when i was watching my niece...she didnt get sodas or fast food...i cooked everything for her by hand....and her favorite thing to eat was her vegtables, she loved her meat but she would devour her vegtables.
Yes. It is the parents. I read that the first year establishes most of later eating habits. I didn't allow my son ANY sugar for that first year... AT ALL & I added in the natural sugars like sugar free apple sauce & the other sugar free fruit baby foods very late in the first year. That is the key to a lifetime of healthy eating, the first year. So listen up you fools, stop feeding your baby ice cream because it is cute... It isn't cute at all...
Ok, rant over...
My friend used to do that, feed her baby ice cream now & again. That girl is a sugar junkie now, really bad. She throws fits for junk food. She is 10 years old & is fat. Me & my other friend lived by the first year rule & our children are all thin.
My son makes his own choices for food. My son's favorite snacks include: cucumbers, carrots, sugar cookies, chips n sour cream, strawberries, life cereal, frosted mini wheats, apples, tuna sandwiches, plain spaghetti noodles & grapes, with a bit of Subway & Burgerville now & again.... that is most of his diet. I tell him to go easy on the chips n sour cream when he gets them out & he does. I know that puberty is a big time for fat cell production & if you can stay thin through puberty, you will be easier off in the long run later in life. That is what I tell him, just so he knows. He is smart. He is a thin as a rail. Hee hee.
I am really onto this because I was a semi-overweigh child off & on later like in mid & high school. Not terribly overweight & I was tall so, but still.
Over the last few years I have lost 60 pounds & still have 10-40 to go (depending on if my body stops loosing or not). I loose some, then I wait awhile & eat normally, then I will loose more, then wait again... I figure that way it is more likely to STAY off. Which has worked so far.
My weight gain was from meds (that I am off now), but it is still weight gain & I don't want my son to have these problems later in life. They suck. Trying to loose weight sucks. Too much monitoring of every little thing. Very annoying, but gets results... still annoying though.
The last 15 I lost when I got this stupid stomach disorder. Sucks being sick alot, but I am liking the weight loose ha ha ha.
Dang, that is alot of information. Ha ha. I guess I am bored.
