once i was forced to watch an episode of nip/tuck with my mother. that was pretty tragic.

but queer as folk... at 14... that wins.

i feel like this: blush : just thinking about it!
rodan:
s'to bad I'm in the states - hot writer babe lookin' for someone to drag her out for whiskey - ooo ahhh wink

Yeah, he's fine - just one of those ways God says (if you believe in god, or the Intelligent Architect wink ) "YO, Pay Attention!!" - glad your Grand Dad is OK too.

I'm kinda bummed - there's an Anime convention in town this weekend but I haveta head down to visit my parents - not only to check up on my dad but to take my son to visit my niece for her birthday smile.

Ah, well wink - better luck next year! biggrin
mratomic:
Tiger balm on the nipples!?! I must admit I paused next to that pot on my shelf a couple of times before finally trying the Vaseline that was next to it.
acwildheart:
Could have been worse, it could have been Chris Moyles on Radio 1. puke
rodan:
I'm posting a picture of his creations (two of them wink ) in my journal in afew, check it out.

lol - sounds like fun smile - sorry 'bout the pants thing tho - hopefully there weren't any holes! biggrin

I remember room spinning - I typically don't drink any more but given the opportunity I'd make an exception to drink whiskey withya wink.

it took a hour and a bottle of hair spray to get those cans to stay up like that!!
sky:
ahh... but at least at Leeds you get to watch some of the UK girls shakin' their bums on the cabaret stage.

Not so hopeful about the weather! ha... its beginning to look quite dismal x
djinn:
Haha, your job sounds great .

I did pick up Memoirs of a Geisha once but for some reason decided not to get it, I might give it a go sounds interresting.
darbot:
thanks, I like to think I can do some damage, at least match it.
Congratualtions on your jobs!
sky:
ohhhh the weathers clearing up, it's gonna be a GREAT festival!

i think it might be saturday, yknow.. x
djinn:
That does sound tricky but God II'd love to be payed to review manga, lucky thing love

I think the problem with Hertfordshire, well at least were I live is that it's very middle-class & small minded. There's nowhere to go out, no excitement, it's ugly the people are horrible..... & I live close to a cereal factory, so everytime you go outside it smells like Sheddies and occasionally Alpen puke
mratomic:
That indeed was a sketch of the Suicide Ally of Stay Beautiful you spotted in my gallery.
Sketching folks in clubs is a great way to communicate when overloud music limits the possibility of conversation.
rodan:
I get a bunch of things if I google me, including one of the books I wrote long ago and far away - nothing exciting, just programmery stuff smile.

It even finds my website which has nothing but a picture of a rose smile.
texax7:
way to go. I love Anime.
rodan:
yeah - it was a ploy to get a better job - it sure wasn't for the money smile.

Worked too smile...

Thought about writing another one but it's to much work. I do have a good topic for one now - and a hook, I just need to get a proposal together and sendit to someone smile
mratomic:
Don't know Ally's surname but I would not be shocked if it was her.
Manko & I used to frequent Stay Beautiful, nice glam/punk music but the clientelle were horribly underage it seemed a bit too much like a groupie grooming ground...
twinkie:
Thank you for the very sweet comment, and congrats on your writing jobs! That's very cool!
mratomic:
hello there,
yes that Stay Beau scene is quite interesting on an anthropological level, though it does get a bit seedy watching fortysomething Rod Stewart wannabes chatting up glammy 14 year olds who then redouble their pulling efforts after they find out how old the kid really is puke

Also I wonder if you'll be covering the International Manga Art Festival in your professional capacity, sounds like it could be fun...
Then the following week (on the 26th) Paul Gravett has his latest book launch at the ICA, if you don't know Paul you should try to hook up with him he's the David Attenborough of comics, and a real sweetie... wink
twinkie:
Hey, to everything there is balance, right? Right!
