Today’s bum is the lovely @vaega
I’m still single and becoming increasingly frustrated with my singleness. So to start off the reviews with the new Pallbearer single “Dropout” is a continuation down the more compact songwriting path, clocking in at over five minutes( which is short for these guys). It has the psychedelic vibe from the previous full length Heartless, the lyrics are great.
The new Chvrches single “Miracle” is the most mainstream song that I’ve heard of theirs in a while. Lauren Mayberry has one of the prettiest voices in pop music, it definitely shines here
The new Khemmis single “Isolation” is another banger from the Denver dudes who with every release plant themselves deeper within the doom metal garden. Relatable lyrics, solid drumming, and awesome guitar riffs really make this track a must listen
I went to see Primus at red rocks this Sunday and it was one of the best shows I have seen in my life. The opening bands were both amazing. All Them Witches from Nashville started the show off with some stoney retro vibes. Mastodon played second and in true Mastodon fashion they killed it, the highlight of the set was a raucous “Megaladon.” Primus closed the show with one the best sets I’ve seen them perform. The opener of “Too Many Puppies” set the tone for what was an all killer no filler set.
