On Saturday there was another one of my dance school's presentation and I just loved it!
This time it was Hollywood themed, so all songs were from movies. There was Queen, Michael Jackson, some classic porn (pizza delivery guy and a girl with no money to pay for it), Austin Powers and loads of others.
Let's start the adventure with the most thrilling choreography: CHAIR DANCE
I danced three different songs, the first one being "American Woman" by Lenny Kravitz on the chair. For those who watched have no idea that all the girls' clothes were IMPROVISED LAST MINUTE! Thing is: we had ordered custom-made suits (dark blue bodysuits that are very tight to our body and long sleeved - very important for us to easily slip and slide on the chair) to be delivered to us 2 weeks before the presentation, but the girl only took them to the school the night before, and we only tried them on 4 hours before the event - all to find out that
Because of that, we had to ask another dancer, who lives pretty close and wasn't even part of this choreography, to bring all of the bodysuits she had and luckily she had 7 of them, and we were 5 girls, similar sizes! The only problem now was that they were sleeveless, so we would have problems because we would easily get stuck when making some specific moves (like the one from the picture above), but we could work it out in the end 🙌🏻
Second one was a Strip Tease performance by the sound of "Little Bird". That's one I'd like to perform again! But the problem in this one was us 👌🏻 we had been rehearsing this one for around 5 or 7 months already, and as we already knew everything, we "relaxed" so much some things happened at the wrong moment. It still looked good it the end haha but I don't remember doing anything wrong in this one, thought
Last, and definitely not least, we had some disco as devils o/ This was the most difficult one for me to get, and it's the only of the three I remember doing things wrong. There was a part that my brain just went blank and I had no idea what I had to do!!! Crazy! At least I hope this semester I have more time to rehearse, so I can be more professional - as I AM one of the pro dancers there.
In general, I think it was really awesome, some people said it was the best one they've seen so far! Of course, we sometimes get things wrong during the choreography, as this is just the school's presentation, it's almost all students only, some who started having classes a few months ago, so not just professionals, and for that, we did a really great job!
Can't wait to receive the official pictures (those are all from my phone) and I'll try and share some video here for you guys later!!! Any suggestions of which I should post?
