This is a very difficult question for me. As I review movies (as a gifted amateur) and I hope to one day actually get paid for it, picking favourites is kind of what I do but to. To pick just one would be impossible though.
So I got to thinking let's do it by genre, then I realized that when I get to science fiction I'd never be able to answer as the favourite movie depends greatly on how I'm feeling, also do super hero movies fall into science fiction or are they their own?
It's Sophie's Choice, no not the movie it isn't my favourite although it is good. Damn. This is too hard. Ok I'll just list a few that I can always go back and watch over and over again. Not because they are great movies, maybe because they are comfort movies? Yeah. These are my comfort movies.
-Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
-Dragonheart
-Kingdom of Heaven
-The Kingdom
-Aliens
-Stargate
And most recently Pacific Rim.
It is such campy fun and appeals to my inner nine year old.
So while I don't have a favourite these are go to movies when I need a boost or just need to kill a couple hours. Bonus points if you can tell me what each of these movies have in common.
Here's a hint. It isn't the genre as they all could be considered action like movies.
