Well the thumb incident happened far enough before the baking incident to ensure all remaining body parts stayed firmly attached. After the whole thumb thing, I crazy glued everything back in place and spent the next half hour wondering if that was a good idea of if I should go to the hospital. Turned out to be a brilliant idea and no hospital for me!!!
Sorry to hear about the Phantom though. The whole wall of fire, burn the audience technique appealed to me much more. Oh well, no Phantom for me.
I'm glad I know this now... I was all pouty about not being able to go, but it sounds like I should save my money and see it another time.
My favorite part of all the effects is the big wall of fire, I'm choked the downscaled! Last time I saw it in Vancouver I was on the first balcony and I felt a huge wave of heat... I can't imagine what the first ten rows were like.
Also, tres lame that you actually SAW the Phantom's face. The fact that you never normally see it leaves something to the imagination, so you THINK all sorts of gross things about his face. I believe they showed it in the movie, which annoyed me too. But the whole movie kind of annoyed me so I guess it did stick with the theme.
My mom and sis have tickets. They have never seen the show, so at least they wont know what they're missing. Too bad about the short changing of the show people go to stuff like that to see grand spectacle.
