Jeez.....I'm sorry about the predicament. I was there once meself. From my experience, the steroids perk them up for a month or two............but the end is somewhat inevitable. I loved my cat more than I've ever loved anyone or anything.............but she is gone now.......and it was cancer. It was horrible, but time really is a good healer. Keep your chin up.
here is sending good vibes...i really hope all works out for the better. my oldest kitty is got to be like 12 or 13 years old by now. if you had told me she would live that long i wouldn't have believed you. she was born the runt and then she devoleped kidney problems. she lost what little weight she had and all her hair would come out in big clumps. finally a vet pointed us to a special diet and we gave it to her for like 2 years. anyway now she is like 15lbs. and wider than she is long and very precocious. i don't know why i had to tell you that whoole long story b/c it doesn't really apply how you must be feeling.....but you never know maybe you will take comfort in knowing that we all love are animals so much that we are willing to pay like 4 times as much for there food or what ever is best for there well being even though it is hard to do. dammit they are just worth it.
its something that im still not truely okay with, putting animals down. even though eunasia was part of daily life at the sanctuary.... the whole chemo thing is so humyn its un-natural. In that humyns cling to life past its own worth, or as you said MJ, Quality. Most animals will just turn their bodies off when they feel themselves slipping. but then again, they dont romantasis death.
I'm so sorry to hear about your cat...It's so hard to lose a pet. I'm sending my love to the kitty cat, and I'm sure you'll be a wonderful mommy to here while she is sick and up until the end.
Sorry about the kitty *sends get well kitty vibes*. I just went through a similar thing with one of my rats.
I love your photos, btw. Especially the outdoors ones.
That's cool you're a vet tech. What do you specialize in? I'm studying to be a zoologist. It's hard to narrow it down, but I think I want to specialize in freshwater fish.
Awww, poor kitty. It's hard to watch your babies suffer. My oldest kitty just turned 15, and I'm concerned for his health. He seems to be alright now, but he's been having problems with his bones -- possibly arthritis.
Then I came here and your profile pic forced me to dump my bad mood...... sigh.....
