I guess the question is where to begin? Maybe it’s the fact that the New Year is approaching or maybe it’s the fact that I’m neck deep in a six pack but I’m in quite a mood to write and to be personal about it. After a little over four solid months of posting a weekly chapter in a zombie novel I’ve been working on I have decided to cut back to no more than twice monthly. Partly this is because writing a weekly entry in a series is very taxing and I haven’t felt comfortable to pursue my other writing or artistic interests for fear I wouldn’t have a chapter ready to post on Mondays and partly because I realize that I haven’t really fully immersed myself in the SG community since joining nearly a year ago.
Of course this is also brought about by the fact that 2014 is staring us all squarely in the eyes and in just a few days, (assuming you engage in this tradition), we will be setting New Year’s resolutions and trying our damnedest to follow through on them. For my part I have several goals and resolutions to follow through on. Firstly I want to engage a little more in the SG community and in doing that I realize being a little more open and personal with who I am is required and thus this and future blogs will delve into this area more.
Two the ability to be relatively anonymous has allowed me, (and I assume others), to hide our flaws, when the SG community is about celebrating our uniqueness. In that regard I hope to share in future blogs at least small blurbs about my efforts to improve my physical health and hopefully the successes of doing so as I have struggle for over six years to regain a healthy lifestyle and balance in my life. This transitions nicely into one of the two goals I’ve set for the year. Some will find it strange that as a member of the SG community I have absolutely zero tattoos. I’m not against them, I appreciate them as an amazing and personal form of art and have wanted my own for years but with the inability to achieve and/or maintain my own preferred physical health I have avoided getting any for fear they might not turn out or would become distorted through constant body fluctuations. I hope to change that this year and plan to set a goal for weight loss which once I’ve achieved I’ll go in for my first tattoo. The second goal, and the one I am far closer to achieving is to self-publish my first novel. With it already in the hands of the U.S. Copyrighting office I only have a few months to wait until its ready for upload and sale and I will keep people posts as I get closer to achieving this goal. Here’s hoping that anyone and everyone reading this has a wonderful New Year.
