Oh boy I have some fun stories...
Someone of you might already know that I travel around Australia with my best friend quite frequently for cosplay (the practice of dressing up as a character from a film, book, or video game, especially one from the Japanese genres of manga or anime). Legit the best hobby in the world. We've got a close relationship with some of the people that run the largest pop-culture conventions in Australia and nearly every convention get invited to their VIP nights or small get togethers after the shows.
We have wayyyyyyyy too many stories but I have one particular one that could almost become a novel...
One Saturday in April 2014, Gold Coast
Chrystelle (my cosplay partner) and I were making our rounds greeting all our friends that both work at the convention and have stalls. We were then called over to meet some of the 'famous guests' that were at the con. We never know who we're going to meet when we get called over and at this particular convention there were a few - take that back - SO MANY fantastic big names.
So just sitting there signing away was Verne Troyer (Mini-Me, Austin Powers), we went over and introduced ourselves. We spent the next 45 minutes laughing and swearing and saying the dirtiest things. We all knew it was for fun and laughs. A few seats down we noticed a hand waving signalling us to come over... it was Michael Rooker (Merle Dixon, The Walking Dead & Yondu, Guardians of the Galaxy). We obviously then went over, duh. Chatted and laughed for a while and even had Alexander Ludwig (Bjorn, Vikings) come over and introduce himself - Yes, I nearly died.
After enjoying the rest of the day with friends we got a message with the details of the VIP party that was in legit 1 hour... We ran to that hotel room like there was a dragon chasing us.
We freshened up, got our sexy dresses on and headed over. As soon as we walked in Chrystelle was dragged away one way and I the other. I had Finn Jones (Loras Tyrell, Game of Thrones) come up to me, grabbed both my hand and said "I broke up with my girlfriend a few days before getting into Australia, I just really need some weed and good sex". Peed my pants I did. I replied with "I'm sorry I can't help you with either of those", I should of just said yes. I started walking away pretty much as soon as I finished my sentence, but he pulled me back and asked if I would like to sit and chat with him anyway. We chat about weird family stuff and some of the locations for Game of Thrones.
I then suddenly realised I hadn't seen Chrystelle in about an hour, I stood up to try and see if I could spot her. There she was, on Michael Rooker's lap, both of them holding their scotch on the rocks taking selfies. She was more than fine.
I signalled to Chrystelle that I was heading over to the bar for a drink, she joined me. As we were waiting to be served Lucy Lawless (Xena) came over and asked us what we were drinking. Wet pussy shots, always wet pussy. She yelled over the bar for 3 wet pussy shots. We were both kind of speechless, I mean firstly what the fuck do you even say to Xena? Secondly what the fuck do you say Xena when she wants to do shots with you? We did our shots and she proceeded to say "I fucking love Australia". Xena swears guys, she swears a lot.
The rest of the night was just spent chatting with Alexander, Michael, Verne and few other voice actors.
It was now Sunday, the last day of the Gold Coast convention, we said our thank you and goodbye's but this was not the last time we would be seeing them! The following weekend was the Melbourne Convention with all the same guests. Oh yeah.
Following weekend, Saturday April 2014, Melbourne
As oon as we arrived we made our way over to greet everyone - As we do. Almost immediately Verne asked if we would join him at his hotel for light dinner before the VIP party. We never say no to food, ever. The rest of the convention was great. Got some great photos of our costumes and chatted heaps. We left a little earlier so we had enough time to freshen up for dinner and the party.
So now we were hot and ready at the hotel all the guests were staying at. We were in the hotels cafe having canapé's with Verne and noticed all the guests coming out to be picked up and taken to the party. Without realising Verne had held two seats for us in the bus so we can all go in together. WHAT.
Vere had to sit near the front as it's obviously tricky enough him getting into a bus so we sat a couple rows back. We watched ever single guest get into to the bus, it was the weirdest thing.
So Lucy Lawless sat right in front of us. She was leaning over the chair facing the back of the bus with her boobs squashed up and legit perfectly in front of me. She was yelling out things I don't even think I can repeat. I think she said cunt 6 times in the one sentence.
We were finally there, I was so happy to get out of that bus. It was just so weird my brain couldn't understand how the fuck i ended up with Lucy's tits centimetres from my face.
All the drinks, all the laughing and dancing. We seriously had too fantastic of a time.
So that was just one convention and las year we went to a total of 9 conventions. WE LEGIT HAVE SO MANY STORIES.
But i'll save them for another time ;)
