The problem is there are only two wires running to your house, a phone line and a cable. Unless you can get internet service through the air those are the options. Who can afford to build a whole new hardwire network? Be happy you don't live in the sticks. Those poor bastards are lucky to get one internet provider and some places it's dial up.
I have Comcast and it's OK. Disruptions are very rare and are resolved fairly quickly when they happen. They have however recently announced usage metering to go along with that non forward-looking thing. It's cheaper to limit traffic than upgrade infrastructure.
Bottom line mega corporations suck, but what choice do we have?
Haha. Yeah, I guess I pay 400 for rent, 300 for utilities (that's an average, since it's cheaper in summer and more expensive in the winter), 200 or less for gas, 120 for car insurance, and 120 for medical insurance. Then there are all of my other savings and unnecessary expenditures, plus 300/mo that I save for my dogs (of which I spend about 200/mo)
To be fair, it's a lot easier to meet savings goals when you usually make at least 300/shift. Then it's just a matter of working an extra shift if you had unexpected expenses. The only downside is when I get sick, then I get REALLY behind and stressed out.
