That sounds excellent. I just gave up on the second Dark Tower book halfway through because I just can't bring myself to care about the characters or the plot. I'm reading The Name of the Wind upon AlphaGoon's recommendation instead. It's decent so far.
Meh. I've simply read better characters before, and the concept of parallel universes via doorways is something I've already encountered in Feist's books, so it's not impressing me at all. I might finish the series, but only when I have lots of time to read, rather than my four precious weeks of winter break.
Alas, no. I have to work every night I can, and then I have to work fridays while I'm in school (although depending on whether or not I can work during the week I could always take a friday off.)
Actually, I'm rather angry about it: I took off work all of Dec until the 19th for finals, busted my ass, and then got A's in two classes in which I couldn't have gotten more than a B. So really, I didn't have to try that hard, and I didn't have to lose my social life. Go fucking figure.
Dammit! Well, I'm in STL right now, but once I get caught up on my finances (it'll probably take until the end of Feb) I can probably sacrifice a Friday work night. It'll be a lot easier once my half-sem math class is over, since that will make Tuesday and Thursday nights open for work as well I've been playing lots of Rummikub and Hand-and-Foot with my family, so I'm making up for all my missed game nights
God, we gave up on getting the bitch downstairs to take part in any of those responsibilities. We just get our pettiness out of the way by shoveling everything but her side of the stairs and front porch.
