Ever buy something you couldn't afford, and enjoy it, but while being slightly conflicted about owning it?

Yes, this could have been more equity in my mortgage, a reduction in my student loans, my property taxes, an assessment, or a much needed ring job for my Saturn. Instead its the ability to carry 15,000 songs, and color photos aroung with me. It's the ability to waste precious hours I should be spending working or with my loved ones doing this. It's the ability to spend extra money I don't have on accessories (hmmm I need the attachment that allows you to dictate into this....), and the ability to treat this thing as if its a new child rather than having a child.
So why buy it? We bought the 20 GB version for my father for Father's Day. My twin brother had one, my brother in law had one, my father had one. At the great MacGiolla family cockfight, I had nothing to send into the ring. So I bought the biggest, baddest version I could find. Ahhhhh, the sweet feeling of victory. Play on Sondre Lerche! Shuffle with Hadyn and Monica Salmaso and Trail of Dead! Play the sweet anthem of victory!

I think it sounded delicious. Beans, beef, that liquid faux cheese, sour cream, etc. with a nice crispy tostada thing in the middle... all bundled up with love in a tortilla.... I was so ridiculously overexcited about this, so when it ended up sucking I was crushed. The tostada thing in the middle was all soggy which totally defeated the purpose. I was so sad.
