That's the percentage of players on PS4 that have played Destiny and completed the King's Fall Hard Mode raid... ignoring completing it on Challenge mode or not, I find it easier to run the challenge mode.
Thing is I don't know really where I stand about converting to PlayStation, but I haven't really used the Xbox as much since it arrived.
Technically the box shouldn't even be here for another 6 days.
I wanted to get into that 1.8 percent by that time and have been trying to rush to a completion on my new Warlock.
But this being Destiny.. it will take time and will happen when it happens.
The first few days were very rough.. just learning to hold the controller took days. My hands hurt. Having Destiny though made it easier to adjust but after 2-3 days I tried picking up the Xbox controller and my hands couldn't recognize it anymore.
For a solid day my hands were so confused.. like pick one, because they just aren't the same shape, even if they have almost the same functions.
It's the almost.. DualShock 4s feel bigger. They feel so much better because they don't feel like cheap pieces of plastic anymore. I only have 1 complaint about them.. that L1 doesn't stick out enough. It feels hidden when pressing L2. That and the long standing hatred of the thumbsticks being so close together and not offset for the left hand. I understand it makes sense the way it is but just like back in the day I get aggravated when my thumbs touch.
Again though because I'm playing destiny on both, at the same time, literally the same missions, I'm managing to flip back and forth. I guess it is a good thing no one came back to Destiny to ask for help with the quests and Prison of Elders.
Otherwise the weight, size, feel, buttons, everything about it is almost perfect. Picking up the Xbox controller was like what the hell is like clackitty clacking craptroller?
It'll be interesting to figure out the touch features and if the tiltroller features are still present and working on the DS4, but I didn't notice them in the menu and Destiny doesn't use them as far as I can tell so wtv.
But then I say it is the same game.. it IS but there's the exclusive content to PS4.
That's not the difference for me and it isn't a key factor in justifying buying the PS4.. and Destiny again.
What I found was that like the controller being so much better.. the graphics are better. Flipping back and forth it is easy to see the game runs differently on either console. Of course if the servers weren't shit it would be FUN to actually play online. wtv.
The thing that sets PS4 and Xbox apart is the execution of little user interface things. Shit that Microsoft should have sorted out by now.. and I mentioned last time.. that since they haven't its no surprise that more people own PS4. AND that more people are selling their Xbox console to buy a PS4 instead.
Other than the graphics and controller... there's is the audio. For some reason Xbox doesn't output a subwoofer channel to my amp so when I play Destiny t here's no bass.
It sucks because I think it works for Blurays but why bother. If it fails with games I'm not going to bother using the Xbox for movies.
TBH I've watched more movies on my phone than Xbox... which is also a troubling thing, phones are more useful than Xbox.
And while I hate the PS UI and PSN.. it didn't take that long to figure out and it is far less of a hassle to use compared to Xbox.
I've said for years that the old UI was trash and the NUI/Windows 10 UI is utter garbage.. but with something to actually compare it to.. forget it. Xbox is trash.
Sadly Studio Wildcard hasn't clarified their plans for Ark for PSVR other than to say they will be launching the free multiplayer game after E3.. likely the press and social media exposure will do well for sales of that version of the game.. but people are asking about Ark Survival for PS4 and PSVR.
I'm not holding out for anything to buy into VR.. but if it is convenient and substantially better than the Xbox version, it'll be easier to consider.
I even tried playing Ark on PC at long last and instantly regretted it. I was made mod for Lieutenantkittykat on Twitch and have been trying to see if she wouldn't consider playing the game on Xbox instead of PC. Her PC runs the game very well so there would be no need to jump platform.. And I mean I'm not really willing to play on a public server. I'd sooner buy a shit box PC and make my own server.
The PC Ark experience though just doesn't compare.
It makes me sad really because there's so much noise about PS4.5/PS4K.. but until E3 there's little point in over selling the concept to ourselves as I'm still not too sure what Sony is actually capable of when they are already ahead.
Last time they had both feet out front and thought it was a good idea to jump, we got PS3... at a ludicrous price.. and it wasn't all that great.
A few years on, and I'm sure Sony won't try a ludicrous price scheme, but some are stating that the new PS4 will be the same price as current PS4 while the current PS4 will get a price cut.
Just in time for the holidays and to annihilate Xbox.
But if they are already winning.. then..
Who are they going to sell the more expensive console to? I've asked for many years why there isn't a $2000 console.
If people are able to put down money on Atmos, 4K, and the time and effort it takes to make games like Ark and all the mods it has inspired.. they do it on PC. I mean fine and dandy but PC is really hard to work with.
Where's the Microsoft and Sony premium console? I might not sell into the 50 or 100s of millions, but if it sold 10 million units and you had a game like Ark, running UE4 to the bleeding edge at 4K60p... what would make it worthwhile?
I'd gotten so immersed in the game, even though the Xbox version is at this stage ludicrously unpolished, that I had to apply a filter.. My brain would say yeah, instead of the shitty graphics, the water would be so much better, the sand on the beach would kick up and leave prints, there wouldn't be mud and wtv and my dino and survivor prints would always be there. At some point there should be earth moving equipment so that we could flatten the ground after clearing it and build roads. Looking at these massive creatures we should be able to see their bones, and tendons, and muscles and such rippling under their leathery skin. It might be gruesome and brutal and wtv but killing them and chopping them up wouldn't make so much more sense if it was literally taking meat off their bodies, and strapping baskets of materials to their saddles..
This game could be so much more.. but instead it is an eSport now.
I'm wondering if PS4 will actually float it as the studio intends or if it will flop.
Instead hopefully they run the game on PS4 'Neo' better than it runs on budget gaming PCs so that people that don't want the hassle of PC and Windows can still have an alternative.
I'd buy one because I've been waiting since PS3 for a higher definition console and have had to settle for Xbox One and PS4.
With those better units on the horizon and movies and TV shows starting to flood the market.. not to mention all kinds of web content in 4K.. it is pretty much time for a 4K console. VR happens to be along for the ride. As much as having said that, I don't have a 4K set or a VR headset and those are $500 to $1000 or more.
Buying PS4 now, even at $299 seems reasonable. It already feels like I've gotten my money's worth after only 1 week with it since it proves that Xbox is trash and MS has done little over the years to make anything better.
