I've made and lost friend in the last half decade.
Regrets? Well that fewer than fingers on a hand.. that's one.
But honestly I don't like dealing with people. Stuff happens and people have feelings that can be hurt when the stuff that happened in the first place was a misunderstanding.
And then there's video games.
For some people, the core of their entertainment, because they've grown up with them, are video games.
I know video games, I've had many ideas for video games, played hundreds if not thousands.. and worked professionally as a game tester.
Between that and IT, I'd prefer IT because while both are thankless professions, at least there isn't the same frustration and disappointment in IT if stuff doesn't work because it is old and plain shitty.
Or so I thought.
Like.. I can usually deal with windows XP being shitty, and IE, being shitty, and an internet connection being shitty..
But combined with E3 being shitty, Xbox 360 being ancient, and no announcement of a next generation of consoles.. oh and Mass Effect 3 being shitty..
Where's video games to be the core of my entertainment world?
To balance working in IT..
To balance losing friends over stupid misunderstandings.
Sigh.
So then Halo 4 launched and I'm like.. no man.. no. I ain't buying an umpteenth Xbox 360.
So I bought my grandmother a plan ticket to the islands and paid my bills.
Fine.. no Halo 4. If it can't launch on PC.. so be it. It isn't like Windows 8 is working out that well anyway (shitty mess).
But.. can't even get that far without BioWare saying they are in the early stages of making another Mass Effect.. one presumably that won't be using UE3.. and hopefully will be an early launch window title for Xbox 3 and PS4.
Great I says..
Great but shouldn't I be excited?
Isn't Mass Effect one of the better shooter rpgs, that's managed to close out an arc and still have mediocre multiplayer?
Yep..
Maybe they need to solidify their plans before trying to get people interested.
