i'm going to be a drug and alcohol counsler. hopefully work my way up to being an interventionist and/or a recovery coach(they help teach you life skills after being treated for drugs or alcohol). and i'm very excited and committed. i just started at a job that is a crisis line for alcohol and drugs.

look into your community colleges! i'm going to one, and it's schooling you can do in a little over a year here in Washington state, and then i have to intern for about 2 years (2500 hours) before getting certified by the state.

www.adhl.org i work there. it's rad. and i would encourage it, but be forwarned that each state is different in their requirements. like here- you are supposed to have evidence to prove sobriety for 1 year before being registered as a counsler with the state. yeah..like some shrinks aren't smoking crack or anything. riiiight....
