i'm packing up my stuff in a big pink suitcase, listening to tilly and the wall and putting off writing a Roethke paper that's due tomorrow.
i'm going on a boat tomorrow with my roommate--here's to hoping that we don't get swallowed by a giant whale a la "The Mariner's Revenge" by The Decemberists.
I've become so apathetic about updating, and I really do have so much to tell you guys. I have paintings to share with you, new hair, new shoes (omfg @ the cowboy boots I still haven't taken off), and a million other thoughts floating around in my mind. I promise I'll get around to it someday.

o1. norma_jean is awesome and it makes me unbelievably happy to know that she is happy. i love her.
o2. Perdita is sassy and fun and insightful, and I'm going to visit her at the end of November. Be jealous of me, but don't be jealous of my three-hour layovers in NYC each way.
o3. Finch is by far one of the most amazing ladies I have ever encountered. I so hope we can see each other soon, because god knows we are both way overdue for girltime and coffeetalk.
o4. Myrtle is absolutley my situational doppleganger. We like to gossip and ruminate about life over smoothies with 10 juices in them.

I just picked up Janet Fitch's new novel, Paint it Black yesterday. She is such an amazing and inspirational writer, and I'm already on page 150--I can't tear myself away! She also wrote White Oleander, one of my absolute all-time favourite books. I can't reccomend her work enough to everyone. This woman makes me want to write as if my life depended on it. Which, actually it kind of does.
oh! also, I finished Dry and Magical Thinking, both by my new favourite memoirist, Augusten Burroughs. If you haven't read any of his work, run, don't walk to your nearest bookstore and pick up some of his books. He'll make you laugh and break your heart.
next on the list to acquire: World War Z, otherwise known as a fucking amazing zombie book. It's written by the same guy who wrote The Zombie Survival Guide. You should get both, you know, to be prepared.
also! i'm planning on picking up Mark Z.Danielewski's newest novel, Only Revolutions. This is the same brilliant man that wrote House of Leaves, which is quite a mind-fuck of a book.
