So today my friend Mike called me and said he had a question for me he never thought he'd ask another man again. So I said, "Shoot" . He goes, "you wanna see Queensryche?" I go... "errr ummm..." he goes, "I have a hookup at the universal ampitheatre, it's free! And Dream theatre opens".
So I was thinking, what bands have you guys seen live? I mean all of them, even the ones you're ashamed of...
Here the ones I can think of, cuz for some of the bands I've seen I can't remember a think about the concert or what band it was.
Underworld (I think I've seen half the shows they've played in this country. !!!)
White Zombie - ehh saw them on halloween a long ass time ago and once in SM.
NIN/David Bowie - saw them the day before White zombie. I swear to god David Bowie was staring at me for half the show.
Montley Crue/Megadeth - OK i'm not very proud of this, but I sorta used to like Megadeth. Montly Crue - fuck them.
Queensryche - Used to love this band. Back in the days.
Metallica - popular as ever, still rock.
Dire Straits - ALMOST saw the lead singer play in London. Could here it from outside the club. Shouda gone but the people I was with were broke. I'm counting this cuz I heard at least 3 notes played.
Ozzy - Umm yah Ozzfest. Duh. I leave after Iron Man.
Crystal Method - yup
Skinny Puppy - I think I saw them. Too fucked up to remember. I figure the show was great or horrible, no in between
Tchaikovsky - No he wasn't there (ha ha ha) but I'm counting this cuz I've seen the 1812 at the hollywood bowl like 10 times. Fire works! yay!
Moby - this guy is a jackass. I've never seen a performer alienate a crowd like he did.
No Doubt - Gwen is pretty hot, I like them. Not my kinda music usually but I like.
Offspring - OK. I HATE this song "gotta keep 'em seperated". But they are incredible live. Yes yes I know they're not real punk.
Other bands I've seen:
RancidBlackSabbathKidRockAnthraxU2KornIronMaidenRedHotChiliPeppers(whowenttomyschool). Hmm there are a lot more I can't think of. A lot of them are from festivals though. There are also some local bands that I'm sure no one outside of Cali would know of.
Bands I wanna see but haven't: Pink Floyd, Radiohead, any Black Metal, and umm an opera. Never seen one. Aria?

As for Scotland, I can't comment but my other half's from Ireland and they're big on encouraging people with creative backgrounds, so maybe that's an indirect route. Hadn't really considered the whole work visa problem, I must admit. Brother in law lives in Chicago having found his way there from Ireland and he overstayed his visa and has spent the last 5yrs+ as an illegal; spends all his time panicking at sight of squad cars, etc. So I guess I know or can appreciate what that must be like...
As regards Chelsea, yer askin' the wrong Brit. Sometimes I feel like the only UK citizen without the slightest interest in football. Having said that one of my oldest mates is a fanatic Chelsea supporter and he's no tosser/wimp/loser/whatever, so let that be your guide...
