puresauciness:
I have heard mixed reviews about the show, so it's good to hear something positive. Some asshole in the SGburlesque group totally ripped the show apart. frown

glad you enjoyed it, I'll probably catch the new york show *muah*

too bad i didn't get to say hello!
(i didn't see you!)
tell your ex girl that girls rule and i say so. tee hee.
but regarding the society thing, i think you're totally right. i dont know if you've read Durkheim, but that's his main point. he wants to say that although there is no *truth* in religion, there is the social aspect of comunity belief that science *the real truth* cannot give us. so i think african society has it right. as a matter of fact, he wrote this other book called Suicide, and while its main point was about the collaborative metaphorical social suicide of europe in the 19th century, one point he makes is that people who tend to commit suicide are more often than not parts of a less structured community-namely, one without a strong bond, such as religion.
ok, i'm done with my speal!
