I had big plans for the night, but they fell through. Oh well! Im going to just stay home and watch some of the 6th season on Desperate Housewives and sleep in tomorrow morning.
Its not often that i find an overnight sitter for my kid. I just dont like asking. I usually wait until he is invited to do a sleep over and then make plans. But I had been planning for tonight for quite some time now and even had a back up overnight sitter.
Its times like these that I am grateful for what I have. I have good job with a decent income, supportive friends, family that is willing to help if really needed, a smart and healthy kid that inherently knows the difference in right and wrong. I have to remind myself that is what is really important. That way I dont get too upset if I miss these kinds of momentary pleasures. They are fun, rejuvinating and exciting no doubt. But its more important that those things I mentioned be stable and in good working order.
Buttt...NEXT TIME I GET A CHANCE TO HAVE SOME REAL FUN I AM GOING TO MAKE SURE NOTHIING HAPPENS EVEN IF I HAVE TO HOLD BACK GLACIERS AND RAISE THE DEAD TO DO IT!!!!!! dammit!

And, yes, next time you have the chance to have some real fun, go for it! I highly recommend Key West for a getaway -- but only if you like fun bars, great food, awesome music, strong drinks, and (possibly naked) people having a good time.
