I've never waited tables but I've done various service jobs so I know how you feel. The cell phone stuff drives me crazy. I like my phone, too, but I know when to put it away. I've had people ask me a question (at the bookstore) then start a call before I can answer. sheesh.

never been to detroit. went to chicago a few times. cleveland a lot. mostly stayed in ohio. i lived there til i was 12 so i didn't do too many exciting things.

yet another reason why i never waitressed... not to mention my mother has done it practically her whole life and made sure i never had to do the same thing.

i've had really bad experience with servers as well.. when my uncle comes in town from california he gets so irrate when he asks for grape juice and the assholes have the audacity to say, "wine has grapes in it." WTF? he's a recovering alcoholic...

haven't been to ohio in five years. i may go visit my dad and grandparents this fall. i remember ohio being nice in the fall. except for the wasps.
