Cornwall looks spectacular! Looks like you chose a beautiful (and historic) spot for your r&r. Welcome back
This was an historic mining area as well. Some of the iron mines were productive well into the 20th century, garnet is still mined about 20 km from here and the marble for the Washington Monument obelisk in Washington, DC was quarried about down the road. Fodder for a future blog. We don't have those incredible beaches and seaside views though...
Merlin is bigger (of course) and handsomer than ever. I hope that all is well with you and yours. Best wishes.
It went down to 4 degrees (celsius) here last night. It's a beautiful crisp, clear morning but it looks like summer is over - we never really even had one. I'm hoping for a lovely autumn. For both of us.
I was born very near and lived my first 18 years by the shore. I didn't get to the beach once this season. I'm so glad that you did. There's nothing like sunshine and salty sea air to make things right. Thank goodness for your wonderful photos! They're helping
By the way... it was the Washington Arch in NYC not the monument in DC. I don't know what on earth I was thinking. All I can say in my defense is that it was after midnight and I was enjoying my favorite Islay export
Now that you're back I hope that all is going well.
As for me, I'd love to live by the sea.
