I guess that not many people know I'm starting University in Sept 2010, and I'm looking for an Au-Pair (for two little girls) to start Aug 2010.
As a bit of background, so that if you know anyone who would want to Au-Pair, I live in London, 30 mins by metro from Oxford St/ Central London. Its a very multicultural neighbourhood I live in. East European, Central European, Mediterranean, Western European, North African, South African,African, Carribean, Middle Eastern,Oz NZ you name it the community areas are 10 - 15 dawdle (slow walk) from my front door.
I'm an EFL/TEFL/TOEFL teacher going back to Uni to do my masters in Language Learning and School Managment. So the actual looking after children would be about three days a week maybe five but only for about five six hours a day. Idealy the person wouldn't be a native english speaker as you can get english lesson thrown in.
What would you get from it? Your own room not the biggest (2.5mX2m) freeview hd and dvd, maybe a Wii thrown in as well (dunno about that yet). Unlimited broadband access, use of a PC/laptop, Oyster Card for public transport. As a family we are not fussy about food or drink so we can accomodate any dietry requirements. Overall we're are very relaxed about stuff and expect the Au-Pair to extend the same courtesy.
If your reading this and may know someone who would be interested, if they're a moody bitch who doesn't like the idea of living with a 30something married couple with lots of tattoos and piercings and young children, who have an honest, relaxed, modern attitude to life and just want's free accomodation close to the center of London, with some cash thrown in - they will be told to fuck off by my hubby(and me, but he'll do it sooner where as I'll do it later).
The girls are preschool/first grade and toddler and like playing, chatting and having fun. Any violent discipline, spitefulness or nastyness will not be tolerated, even if that's what the person was used to growing up and think that's the way how to treat children.
What we do expect is someone who has a tolerant attitude to life and isn't abusive of people's good natures, that is don't try to milk it and don't try to rip us off. Also we'll respect their privacy and want ours respeced too,. In the free time they can do what the hell they like except no bringing home a dodgy geezer one night stand from a club who empties the fridge/drinks the booze/shoots up in front of the children and walks around like a smug fuck because he's just got laid. Also, the room is next to the bedroom and we do fuck quite alot more (seriously more cos we still fancy each other) than the average couple with two small children.
It will be for about 9 months to a year while I do Uni etc.
