Its very annoying being let down by someone, especially your parents. My mum's a bit ultra conservative. Three months ago we arranged for my parents to look after the children so me and my hubby could have a long quality weekend together. First time in four years when we wouldn't have the chldren and could go out all day have fun drinks and a meal and not worry about the time we had to get home.

When I first told my mum about the Tattoo convention she asked if it was anything like the Edinburgh Tattoo ( a display of millitarism) so she didn't really understand what a tattoo convention was. Yesterday, when my dad rang to tell me she'd fallen over and hurt her back, I though "typical, she's done this on purpose, cos she doesn't want me to go". So today I had to give myself a telling off about nasty thoughts as it turns out not only has she hurt her back but broken her arm too. Sods law...

So it now looks like I'll go on the friday and hubby will stay at home with the kids... We don't have a regular childminder and can't afford it either at shuch short notice. So i can go have some fun, see the Suicide Girls perform and maybe get something done. Then my hubby will go on the Saturday. But it would have been so nice to go together.
