Whew its been a long time. I'm still working a crazy amount of hours every week so it is hard to have motivation to type out a blog when I get home at night. I'm finally getting over this sickness that i've had for close to a month. Going on vacation for Thanksgiving, eating a ton, going into a turkey coma, and sleeping for 12 hours helped restart the good'ol immune system. I'm half way through the second major part of my clinical rotation. Hematology was my strongest subject in school but I've come to learn that the majority of what I learned isn't really practical knowledge unless I were to work in a research lab. Oh well, it is still kind of interesting, just less thought provoking than I could have hoped for.
About the only other excitement I've had in the past few weeks is the matter of having a girlfriend. She is great but it didn't last long because of theological differences. She has a strong faith in Christianity and I don't at all. We also disagreed on the matter of abstinence. I'm not one to try to pressure her to change her values but it was difficult for me and often felt like something was missing. Physical intimacy is something that I've grown to really appreciate. Oh well though, it was a mutual decision to end things and just hang out every so often as friends. No big deal!
The tummy is rumbling so it is time to go scour the kitchen for nourishment. Have a fantastic rest of the weekend. Here is a pic from when I was in my hometown not too long ago. Note, not my kids but they are pretty entertaining.
