I figured it out. Well, my sister suggested it, but I eventually would have thought of it.

I was going to do a video of my Dad's birthday party anyway, but what I can do is edit the good parts of the party together with a bunch of scenes from our old home movies from the 50s and 60s, adding subtitles and voiceovers if appropriate. And then make a copy for my Dad in particular, but the family as well. Heaven only knows how Mom will be for his next birthday, so this will be perfect.

I've been taking a lot of video since Mom got sick, not that I didn't take a lot before as well, so I can incorporate all that stuff and the pre-illness stuff too.

Sometimes when I get to thinking, I can't stop crying, but at least I'm having the time to try to deal with it and to see her and laugh with her, and tease her and have her tease me back.
