I lived in Spain for a year and also had the experience of being surrounded in a procession of people with hoods and also carrying religious icons. Beautiful images.
I'm sorry you've been having trouble showing your work. Remember that controversy can be good, especially in the world of art. If you could find someone to take a chance on showing your work it may work in your favor.
I don't know how or who you've shown your work to but maybe pitching it as a work on perspectives where the reaction of one culture to a symbol is completely different than the reaction of a another culture. One of the reasons I like those pictures is because there is a huge paradox of perspectives and meaning behind the symobology of the hoods. Plus you've captured the eerieness of scene that I felt being there as an American. But I'm sure the Spanish feel completely different about those scenes. You may also want to research Spanish businesses and see if they would be willing to show your work since they may have very different views.
Anyway, I really like brainstorming on things like this so if you want to discuss more I'd be happy to.
As for motorcycling, since I've moved down to Monterey we saddly haven't been riding as much. I miss the Oakland hills. Oh well.
I want to see more of your work.
The hands pic I did was 120 film scaned and then I leveled the hell out of it.
