I have a new goal: to read everything that Gabriel Garcia Marquez has ever written (excluding the majority of his Colombian newspaper articles). That is my goal. I will let you know how it works out.

I had a conversation with a girl that I adore and we were talking about what makes people sexy. We both concluded that reading is a huge turn on, and she admitted that my reading Anton Chekhov when we met had a lot to with us becoming friends. So that was sweet. But I can't help this fantasy that one day I will be at a book shop and reaching for a copy of something incredible, Neal Stephenson, or Jose Saramago, and my hand will brush the hand of a beautiful Suicide Girl and we will smile at each other then talk about books over a cup of black coffee. Beyond that... well I shiver thinking about it. And it's funny because I think about the women that I get attracted to and they all have a profound intelligence to them. And the ones that I tire of real quick are the ones who say, "I don't read much,' or worse, "I don't like reading."

If the g-ds are willing I will be able to talk about the books I am finishing up this week.
