Heheheh, man, what a day. Doing laundry, cleaning house for the little one, grocery shopping, the to do list is long and domestic.
I have come to the conclusion that I have to grow my hair out long again for one reason and one reason alone. It is a much simpler task than learning to speak Spanish. I have received a couple of posts, emails, and real world encounters from many wonderful people who are under the assumption that I am Hispanic. Now, while this isnt a bad thing in any way, and I do have a lot of Hispanic friends who have also assumed this, the truth of the matter is that I am not Hispanic. Hell, I cant even speak a word of the language. Today at the grocery store the check out girl just started speaking Spanish to me and I had no idea what she was saying, but it must have been nice cause she was smiling all thru it. This happens to me all the time, and I am the subject of a lot of teasing and ribbing from my Latino friends. It is rather funny, but you can only nod your head and smile so long before being discovered.
For the record, I am Native American (Blackfoot) and Italian. I am very close to my Native American heritage, not so much so with the Italian side of the family. I go to a lot of the festivals down south and strongly believe in their spiritual beliefs as well.
I hope that no one takes this post the wrong way, I dont get upset at all when my heritage is questioned, I just wanted to clarify it before I got emails or posts written in Spanish that I couldnt read, thats all.
Locaweda can still call me PAPI though heh heh.
Peace my friends,
