This week's homework - What are your Top 5 Reasons to Join SuicideGirls.com? Here's my list, and I'd love to see your's!
1. Go to SG Sponsored Events!
I have massive social anxiety and am likely to curl up in a mess of pillows and blankets. But through SG I've pushed myself and attended lots of events through the years and left my house! I've been to tattoo conventions in Massachusetts, Ohio and Arizona. I've been to Comic Cons in NYC, LA/Anaheim and San Diego. I've been to Burlesque shows since 2005 (in Boston, Providence, Hartford, and tons of Blackheart Burlesque shows here in Southern California since I've moved). I even put on a dress and some lipstick and went out to the Peek-A-Boo Burlesque last month!
I don't feel as awkward when I'm around girls that I love that I've met through the site. Knowing that you're going to be surrounded by SG members and that you get to meet pretty girls? Priceless.
2. Get Advice
This may sound silly, but I'm very serious - I get advice about so many different questions I have through and because of SuicideGirls. Looking for something to do when you visit Southern California? Ask in the SG California group and the locals will tell you where to go and what to avoid. Looking to create the perfect eyebrows or want to know if the latest Jeffree Star lip stain is as amazing as it looks? Ask in the Makeup and Beauty group. Want to know if you should mail your cheating ex boyfriend's wallet back to him when it gets mailed to you by accident? Ask Lyxzen. Haha. Missy constantly teaches me new things and I would never have such a fantastic boss if I never joined the site. Because you honestly never know where your life may go.
3. Have Built In Friendships All Over the World.
I would have never met girls from the UK, South America or Australia if it wasn't for this site. I know that if I were to travel I could meet up with girls or members every where! I've been to shootfests where there are ladies from EVERY WHERE and met so many fantastic people. I've talked to people for YEARS online and then met them in person and it's like we knew each other our whole lives. Because we kind of have. When @Chrysis moved to Connecticut in 2011, I was already there. We'd never met before but we became close while she lived there and we still talk often. Since I've moved to LA I've met SO MANY amazing girls and members. I go out weekly and hang out with @Bradley, @Leviathan and sometimes @Lyxzen, @Liryc and @Lolana. I have a built in family and they've helped keep me sane!
4. Create Memories and Have Them Documented in One Place
I have been writing a blog on this site and this page since late 2004. That's 12 years of blogs, photos and nonsense that I can go through and it's all in one place. Sometimes I go through my old blogs and cringe, and sometimes I cry. But I've grown up on this site and there are tons of other girls that can say the same. I love looking through the old sets and seeing how girls grow up and change. I found most of the photos for this blog HERE, including this photo of me and @sky from 9 years ago and the one of me, @cherry and @sunshine from 8 years ago!
5. The Photos. Duh. The Most Gorgeous Pin Ups in the World.
I saw a picture of @quinne in 2004 that changed my life. At that point there were less than 500 SuicideGirls and now there are almost 3000. There's honestly a hot girl for every person out there!
I wanted to share a few more pictures that I found while looking for a couple to add to this blog. Thank you SG for always being there for me.
until next time...
