ou est Lisa Robertson? she must be a badass to be your mentor.
funnily enough, i seem to be writing shorter poems of late, something which i've always aspired to; a Clarice Lispector line springs to mind - "the truth is reached not by accretion but by denudation" (to paraphrase). i admire your prolificism, tho, without a doubt. fact is i am a very lazy writer/person.
..."Which is why I think this piece is needling me - it's so much itself rather than me!" - just fuckin go with it! i am a terrible nihilist and the worst kind of cynic, but the one thing (perhaps the only thing) that persuades me of a "spirit" or "other self" is the power and caprice of the creative intuition...
i'll PM you the poems set for inclusion in the book and you can judge for yourself if it's BHM material. cheers.
You are very welcome, and I'm glad to hear that, I'll be looking forward to your posts, you should start putting your name in the title of your stories, or else I'm going to have to drop you a message every once in a while like "which is your next story!!??!!!"
Nice blog entry too btw.
Pound wrote the ABC Of Reading? i always thought it was Valery. i don't know where i got that from. anyway, it's a book i must explore... i like the ring of "dichten", but you're right, we mustn't forget the traditionally grand prototype, and i do take issue with someone (even Pound!) saying "this is what poetry is". if that's the place or duty of anyone, i don't know who that person is...
Yeah.
