I'm really really sorry to hear this. I"m glad you were all there with him. Maybe your therapist is right. I'm going through the same thing right now. I'm doing much better than 2 weeks ago, but it's still sucky quite a bit. Send any great coping tips my way, and I'll do the same!!
I'm sorry for your loss. Perhaps it's a small blessing it wasn't drawn out any longer. It also seems like you did all you could, so you should have peace of mind.
Thanks again for taking the time through all this to share advice on my situation. Please keep in touch.
The diet cat food I was feeding mine made things worse. They were totally bloated and had to shit all the time! The people in the kitties group convinced me I should try a high quality, human grade meat, wet cat food instead. I haven't completely stopped with the kibble because they're so used to it and I don't want to make them sick, but there's an improvement after just a week and a half.
actually, all my cats are male. i have one tuxedo (black and white), one siamese, and one orange and white long haired. FIV occurs mostly in unneutered males because they fight alot and it's commonly transfered through deep bite wounds.
i'll probably post pics of them soon.
Oh, and beyond your helpful comment, I am sorry that your father passed, but I think there's beauty in having no pain at the end of a life. Its about the best one can ask for in departure from this space.
I'm sorry for the loss of your father. I understand (as much as a complete stranger can) a little of what you're going through.
In response to your question in my journal, I actually attended the Florida College of Natural Health, although I hear that NHI is a reasonably good school. I'm right down the street from them too, and was thinking about looking into their faculty requirements.
