being a hornball + being in a relationship = good thing.
Well, if you want to listen to classical Indian music I would recomend Bikram Ghosh - Talking Tabla (great CD), Ali Akbar Khan - Traditional Music of India, Trichy Sankaran - Las Vinyas, Zakir Hussain - Sambandh, Imrat Khan - Rag Madhur Ranjani, The Karnatak College of Percussion, or for really slow deep trance like classical Indian sitar: any Ashok Pathak releases. My favorite release of Ravi Shankar is his strangest one (so maybe not the best introduction) Transmigration Macabre. Other releases from Ravi that I have are Ragas Varanasi, Raga Jogeshwari, Raga Tala, and Ragas. They are all pretty good.
Classical Indian music tends to be a lot deeper and coming out of a meditative stance, and has a much more complex and intricate rhythmic and melodic system, so give your ear a chance to develop.
